Birds Of Kumaon
Birds of Kumaon*
Feathered Peaks. Forest Calls. Wide Skies.

Easy-Moderate
This isn’t just birdwatching — it’s terrain tracking at three altitudes. From the thick oak forests of Sattal to the alpine ridges of Pangot, and finally down to Corbett’s wild heart — this route is crafted for real birders and wildlife lovers. Follow the forest line, cross habitats, and spot 500+ species through shifting altitudes, dense sal woods, and riverside trails. Cameras ready. Binoculars locked. The birds aren’t waiting.

One road. Many moments. Here’s how.
Day 1 – Into the Forested Seven Lakes
Transfer from Delhi to Sattal (approx. 7–8 hrs). As you climb into Kumaon, let the landscape shift — pine forests, lake valleys, and crisp mountain air. Evening nature walk if time allows. Watch for early visitors — the forest doesn’t sleep.
Day 2 – Sattal Forest Birding
A full day in the woods. Kalij pheasant, rufous-bellied woodpecker, Himalayan barbets, bee-eaters, and more. Explore by lake, trail, and canopy cover. Don’t miss the silence. It's where the next call comes from.
Day 3 & 4 – Climb to Pangot
Rise to 8000 ft. Pangot’s high-altitude birding is legendary. Spot the Himalayan Griffon, Lammergeier, forktails, pheasants, blue-winged minlas and more. Two full days, no rush. Just listen and track.
Day 5 – Corbett by the River
Descend to Corbett, pausing at Corbett Falls for en-route sightings. Afternoon birding at Kumeria — brown fish owls, redstarts, forktails. Watch the Ramganga’s edge: it hums with wings.
Day 6 – Through the Grasslands
A full day in Corbett’s jungle and grassland terrain. River lapwings, crimson sunbirds, hawk-eagles, owlets, francolins. Track quietly. Sit longer. This place is a raptor’s paradise.
Day 7 – Jeep Safari & Departure
Optional early morning jeep safari (direct payment). A final shot at the tiger, maybe an eagle in flight. Return to resort, breakfast, and check out.
