Ranthambore National Park is located in Rajasthan, North India and is one of the most popular wildlife sanctuaries of the country, famous for its tiger population, scenic landscapes with dry deciduous forests and a rich biodiversity. Go for jeep and canter safaris to sight the Royal Bengal Tigers along with Leopards, sloth bears, hyenas, jackals, crocodiles, and various deer species like the Sambar, Chital/Spotted Deer & Nilgai. It’s a haven for birdwatchers with over 300+ species of resident and migrant birds. Visit the Ranthambore Fort, a UNESCO site. All in all a fabulous wilderness experience.

Itinerary:

Day 1 - Stay at Delhi – Meal included – Breakfast

Arrival at Delhi Airport. Meet & Greet and transfer to a luxury hotel in Delhi. We use this night to relax, refresh, get over the jet lags and get ready to spend the next two days sightseeing the glorious Capital City of India with historical forts, delectable cuisine, myriad cultural experiences and you may shop to the hilt as Delhi is filled with shopping streets / malls / artisan/craftsman markets. Day 2 & 3: Stay at a luxury hotel in Delhi – Meals included – Breakfast.

Spend both the days sightseeing Delhi, covering the best historical, cultural, and modern attraction like the Red Fort, Old Fort, Jama Masjid, Qutub Minar, the densely populated but colourful and bustling lanes of Chandni Chowk (Old Delhi), Raj Ghat, enjoy delectable multi-cuisine experiences at famous specialty restaurants. Drive past the India Gate & Rashtrapati Bhavan, visit the Humayun’s Tomb and Lotus Temple, Shop for handicrafts at the Dilli Haat and get enchanted by the overload of stimuli in Indias' vibrant Capital City.

Day 4, 5 & 6: Stay at a Resort at the Ranthambore National Park – Meals included – Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner:

On these three days the focus is on morning and afternoon jungle safaris. We recommend at least two morning/afternoon jeep safaris. On Day 4 we relax, refresh, explore the resort and in the evening visit the Ranthambore Fort for some stunning sunset views - A UNESCO-listed fort located on a hilltop. Also visit the Trinetra Ganesh Temple. Return to the resort to enjoy a bonfire if the weather permits followed by dinner. In Ranthambore you are sure to experience some local Rajasthani culinary delights as all resorts have options laid out in their lunch/dinner buffets. Morning Safaris start at 06:00am - 06:30am Zone 1-6 are best for tiger sightings, while Zone 7-10 offer scenic beauty. Return to resort for breakfast, rest of the day at leisure unless you have to head out for the afternoon safari which starts at 02:30pm and ends at around 5pm-6pm. During leisure time at the resort, relax at the pool, visit the local artisans/craftsmen. Most resorts host evening talks or documentary screenings about Ranthambore’s wildlife and some evenings also have Rajasthani folk dance performances. If time is spare you may also visit Surwal Lake for birdwatching or visit a neighbouring Rajasthani village to experience local life and cultures.

Day 7: Departure for Delhi – Meals included – Breakfast:

On this day you could also consider expanding your itinerary to visit the Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary which is approximately four hours’ drive from Ranthambore. The other interesting options for which you should consider extending your stay are The Taj Mahal at Agra and the Pink City of Jaipur both of which are 4-5 hrs drive from Ranthambore. Return to Delhi for either an overnight stay before you leave for back home or drive back directly to the Delhi International Airport to board your flight.

Ranthambore

Ranthambore is one of the most popular national parks of India, known for its Bengal tigers. Located in Sawai Madhopur district of Rajasthan, it was once the hunting grounds of the Maharajas of Jaipur before becoming a protected wildlife reserve. The park with mostly dry deciduous forest, is named after the Ranthambore Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that sits atop a hill within the park. It’s a perfect destination for wildlife lovers and bird watchers with over 300 species of resident and migrant birds.
