BANJARA CAMPS & RETREATS
Banjara Camps
Let us intorduce you to some great camps & retreats in four little-explored & still-untouched locations, in the inner reaches of the Eastern Himachal Himalayas. Pristine and tranquil locations far away from the Maddening Crowds, spectacular landscapes and phenomenal views of snow capped peaks; abundant opportunities for exploratory hikes, nature walks, and authentic experiences of the local culture; surprisingly cozy & comfortable dwelling units with en suite facilities – given the remoteness of the place; all this along with some warm hospitality: are the common factors across these properties.

Review from the Mountain Trail Team after a FAM trip to Banajara Camps Sangla:

Well, not often are you so overwhelmed with the awe of certain destinations that you find it difficult to even translate your experience in words. Our recent visit to Banjara Camps - Sangla was one of these enchanting experiences. Unparalleled beauty, mesmerising location, just by the river – Baspa and surrounded by towering mountains with some peaks covered by snow, delicious food, awesome hospitality, neat, clean and tastefully done up accommodation. We luckily experienced both the luxury tent as well as the retreat room with an attic. I am so full of Sangla that I could write a book but I would definitely refrain from it ☺ and just mention snippets. All thanks to the Banjara team and Capt. Ajay Sud and Mrs. Sud, the owners, who take care of every aspect of your stay, personally and make sure you have a memorable experience. A must do at Sangla is the TheRakcham walk - one of the best walks of my life – A gushing river, glacial streams with crystal clear water, dense forests, views of the glaciers and snow capped Himalayan peaks are some of the highlights of the walk apart from the great lunch by a stream. Our hot favourite spot at the Banjara Camp was the cute little Tea Stall which is strategically tucked away in the sprawling area, overlooking the River Baspa. And what chai they serve, each of us used to have 3-4 cups per head. Another great part about the place is that you can actually set your kids free as they have ample to do, Badminton, Table Tennis, Basket Ball, Swings, Carom Board, several other table games and the zone is absolutely safe and secure. MIND BLOWING! This definitely is not my last visit as there is lots that we couldn’t do. It’s far away but it’s WELL WORTH IT. A minimum 4 nights stay recommended.
